Using Organic Cosmetics – The Benefits - By: AfterGlow
We all know that we should give our bodies the utmost care and attention it needs, yet every single day we bombard our bodies with chemicals that we use. Be it from the food we eat, the clothes we wear, or the products we use on our bodies like soaps and lotions, including cosmetics, there are certain chemicals that come in contact with our body every day.
Part of living healthy should also include being free from chemicals that our bodies can do away with. In addition to eating organic food, we should also aim to use organic cosmetics as well. This is very important because we only have these bodies to live in for the rest of our lives, so it is just right that we give it as much care as possible.
If you think that your current cosmetic brand does not use or include chemicals, then think again. A simple check of the label will show you several acids and other chemicals that we surprisingly enough, put on our faces every day in the promise of clearer or wrinkle-free skin. There are actually two major benefits when we choose organic items, including cosmetics, over those that include cosmetics. Here is a closer look at those two benefits:
1. organic cosmetics are better for our bodies and our health.
Organic-based cosmetics are better for our bodies and health in the way that organic food is. Chemicals which our bodies silently absorb like coal tar, lead, mercury, and other chemicals with different levels of toxins, are normally found in the cosmetics that promise to make our faces smoother and our complexions better. Coal tar for instance, is a known carcinogen and lead and mercury do not do wonders to anyone’s health. Just imagine what years of use of cosmetics with such ingredients can do to our bodies. By patronizing organic-based cosmetics, we actually do our bodies a big favor.
2. Organic cosmetics are better for the environment.
Think of it this way – the less chemicals we use, the better it is for the environment. Simple, right? The more we patronize organic based cosmetics and other products mean that there will be less demand for those items that make use of chemicals. This also means that there will be fewer production of such products and thus, fewer use of chemicals and their waste products that can harm us and the environment we live in. it is actually fairly simple and it is really a matter of choice. If you care for yourself and the environment, we should be advocates of using organic products over the chemical based ones.
When it comes to the quality, there are a lot of organic based cosmetics that function in the same way as chemical based ones do. Even though they may be made out of organic ingredients, the color, the hours it lasts, and basically the look and feel of organic cosmetics are the same as those that are otherwise. So the next time you shop for cosmetics, read the label and choose organic ones. It is better for you and for the environment. Please visit http://www.afterglowcosmetics.com for more information.

Looking Your Best With Face Makeup - By: Roberto Sedycias
The world today is moving like a fast and furious car race and so are we! In order to match our pace with the world, sometimes we become completely negligent of our own well-being. However, the world today requires much more than talent and the looks of a person plays a significant role in his/her success story. The bitter truth though remains, that every person has not been bestowed with the gift of beauty. Still, it is a proud fact that, today science has developed to such an extent that application of proper face makeup can actually make a huge difference to your face.
The face makeup can be applied in various different ways to suit your requirements. There are separate ways for enhancing, concealing or simply shading certain features of the face. Face makeup plays a magical role in transforming the looks of a person. It is nothing but magic when you see a dreary and dull looking person, change into a dramatic and lively one. Every person however, does not apply face makeup for a look change; some even apply it just to enhance the natural beauty of their faces.
There are several products used for face makeup and each one has its own significance. Foundation, for instance is nothing but a moisturizer, to which a coloured pigment has been added to give a different colour tone to your face. Most of the times, the foundation contains an added sunscreen to provide protection to the skin. People generally pick the foundation of their choice by selecting either the matte finish look or the shimmering look.
Other than the foundation, there is something called the concealer that is more of a camouflage for areas with blemishes, discolorations, bruises, skin irregularities, surface flaws and scars. All these areas require special attention and concealers are simply great at hiding these flaws. Concealers are quite similar to foundations but they are heavier, water resistant and with a higher dose of pigmentation for a better camouflage.
Then we have the blush-on or the more popularly called rouge. It is used to add shade, colour and contour to the face. The blush is available both as cream and powder and can be selected based on our skin type. For example, people with oily and acne prone skin should prefer powder based rouge and not the thick cream based one.
Eye shadow, eye liner and mascara are the three main products used for the beautification of the eye. It may sound weird but a proper eye make up plays a vital role in transforming the entire look of the face. The eye shadow is generally used on the upper eye lid and it gives the required shade and highlighting to the eye. Just like the blush on, it is available both as powder and cream and can be chosen as per requirement.
The eye liner is used to define the eye area and can be specifically used to make the eye look smaller or larger. For the daily face makeup, people generally prefer the black, brown and gray eye liner, though; several different colours like blue and green are also available. Mascara plays a significant role in polishing the eye lashes. They are available as coloured mascaras, thickening mascaras, lengthening mascaras and even water proof mascaras.
Finally, the most effective look to the face make up happens when you apply the lipstick, lip gloss and the lip liner to your lips. The lipstick and the lip gloss give the shine and fragrance to the lips while the lip liner defines the lips in a most accurate way giving the most appealing shape to your lips.
So whether you want to give a new look to your face or just want to enhance your existing looks, apply the right kind of face makeup and you can get what you want!

The Modern Art Of Face Makeup - By: Roberto Sedycias
Beautifying one`s own self has been the urge of both the sexes since civilization began. Face makeup has always been the most vital part of make over. To create an impression on others, women especially have done various types of face makeup to enhance the look. The style of makeup has undergone changes over the centuries but certain basic rules do remain the same.
There are certain steps to follow to do a good job with the makeup kit. The first step is to cleanse the face well with a cleanser so that excess oil and dirt can be removed. The makeup will set well if this is done. Before applying the base the face should be massaged well with a moisturizer. This will eliminate all chances of dryness.
For a proper face makeup the shape of the face must be taken into account first. A strong jaw line must be done in a way to conceal portion of the jaw with the help of the foundation. The foundation or the base of the face makeup must be carefully selected. This will depend on the complexion of the person. A lighter shade must be used for a person with a bright skin tone. It is important to see that the foundation is well blended with the skin. This is easily done with a bit of water added to the base.
The base must be left to dry for a while. For the summers you can apply a cold compression with ice over the face. This will set the makeup well. For the pimple prone face a water based foundation would be the most appropriate. The foundation must be applied in dots all over the face and then blended. The area under the eye must be treated softly so that it may not leave wrinkles.
The jutting jaws must be colored a shade darker to make them look even. For the face that is round use dark shades on the sides to give a narrow effect. The idea is to hide the defects and highlight the plus points of the face. The next step is to powder the face. There are different shades available. It is best to select the shade that is closest to the skin tone. It is important that the powder blends well with the skin just as the foundation does.
The eyes are the next vital aspects of a face makeup. Here again the shape of the eyes is important. The eye shadow that is applied on the upper eyelids should be a shade that suites the skin as well as the time of the day. Usually a strong makeup at night is appropriate while during the day the makeup is rather light.
The eye liner is used to out line the eyes giving them a prominent shape. For the eyes to look large a thin eye line is the best. For the opposite effect the liner could be a thicker line. This also lends the eyes a dramatic look.
The mascara is then applied over the eye lashes to make it appear longer. They definitely look richer and make the eyes seem bigger. The eye brow may be simply brushed or darkened with an eye brow pencil. The final touch comes with the rouge that lends the face its color and radiance. The rouge can be cream or powder. Soft touches of it to highlight or subdue the cheeks are needed. The art of face makeup needs long practice to bring perfection. The best makeup is done in natural light.

How To Apply Makeup - By: Lady zona
It seems that for every type of mineral makeup there is also a different technique to apply it. Now, each company may have slight differences in their makeup that when it is applied a certain way will make it look or adhere better. However, there are some very basic guidelines to applying mineral makeup that will work with almost any brand you buy.
Before starting be sure to wash your face and apply a moisturizer to help your foundation glide on evenly. Choosing the right colors for your eyes is equally as important. Depending on the time of day or the function you are attending will help you decide which types of shades you should be using. Subtlety is very important in how to apply makeup for everyday wear.
Use Eye make-up that has been specially formulated to be oil and fragrance free. Use a non-oily mascara which is water-proof to prevent flaking and excessive smudging. Mascara with lash-building fibres should be avoided.
Note that makeup can have the problematic effect of clogging your pores. Be sure to use a brand of makeup that will not clog pores. These types of makeup have been designed and marketed to teenagers with acne problems. Many times this type of makeup will come with complete instructions. Often these makeup products contain ingredients that kill bacteria and help clean out pores.
Eye Bright: This summer there are some beautiful light, bright, and shimmery eye shadows on the market. Make your eyes the centre of attention with a little sparkle. Choose one colour that is most flattering for you. These are generally opposite colours to your eye colour. Eg: Brown eyes – Blue eye shadow, Blue eyes – Brown eye shadow, Green eyes - Gold eye shadow, ect. With shimmery eye shadows it is always best to stick to the one colour unless you are very experienced in application and blending.
Take into account the color of the hair when applying lipstick. Orange shade lipstick will match black hair. For grey hair use pink color lipstick and for golden brown hair use scarlet shade.
To apply blush stand in front of a mirror in a well lighted room and make a smiley face or suck in your cheeks (this is after your foundation has been applied of course!), use a soft blush brush and start from the ear line stopping at the apple of your cheek, 1-2 strokes with your brush should usually be enough as you do not want to over apply your blush even if it suits your skin tone, usually the more you apply the brighter it becomes.
Still, one of my fondest memories of my mom was when she was teaching me how to apply makeup. I learned more from her than I did from any of the Seventeen magazines that I read growing up, and I never realized it until later on in life. One day, I look forward to teaching my own daughter how to put on makeup and bonding with her in the same way I did with my mom.

Do you know about Airbrush makeup? What is Airbrush makeup? Airbrush makeup has been getting a lot of positive PR from the media. Popular television shows like ABC’s Desperate Housewives has been featuring airbrush makeup and anyone who saw Mickey Rourke in “The Wrestler” could spot airbrush tanning right away. However I bet you’d never guess how long airbrush makeup has actually been around. For nearly 70 years the process of airbrush makeup has been used in motion pictures. Movies set in ancient times like “Ben Hur” and many of the films like Cleopatra and the classic “Ten Commandments” have benefited from the use of airbrush makeup on the cast and the extras.
For decades the industry has evolved beyond film and television and new tones and formulations continue to be developed to facilitate the airbrush makeup process. In today’s Hi-Def, digital photography world, where EVERY imperfection is revealed, airbrush makeup has become the preferred method for professional makeup practitioners. Conventional makeup may look great on a normal television screen but in hi-def the look can be less than desired. By utilizing airbrush makeup, the liquid color goes on in fine microdots that mimic color pixels used by technology. The tiny dots lay on the surface of the face so smoothly, the finish is most commonly described by everyone who sees it as “flawless” or “porcelain smooth”.
The other problem of traditional makeup is the way it completely covers the face, sometimes causing pores to clog. Traditional makeup also tends to fill the pores. Airbrush foundation does not do that. It lays on top of the skin and allows it to breath. If that wasn’t enough reason to use airbrush makeup, here is another significant reason: it is sanitary and germ free. With all other makeup, it becomes contaminated the first time you use it. Airbrush makeup goes from the bottle, that is never touched by human hands, to the clean airbrush and sprayed directly onto the face. Nothing but air and makeup touch the face.
What’s actually included in a good airbrush makeup kit?
1. The air compressor…this makes obvious sense, what is going to power the airbrush if you don’t have the air to do so?
2. The airbrush itself. Like any artist, the brush chosen can make a big difference.
3. the hose from the compressor to the airbrush
4. The power source for the airbrush makeup machine itself.
5. The Airbrush makeup to be applied
6. The airbrush cleaner
THE PROS OF AIRBRUSH MAKEUP:
- Maximum coverage with minimal product
- Delivers a natural and translucent look
- Great for oily skin
- Fantastic for overly active skin that tends to "eat" makeup
- Lasts ten to twelve hours - a bride's best friend
- Does not require powder, which can be aging
- Some foundation formulations are silicone based
- Silicone is as smooth as silk

There Are Different Kinds Of Make Up For Everyone - By: Felicia Mortfield
We all want to look our best when it comes to wearing make up on different occasions of the year. It all depends on the persons' skin tone, eyes, and hair colour and what looks best on that person.
There are different skin tone colours such as fair, medium, olive and dark skin tones. We also can refer skin tones and colours to cool and warm tones.
Cool tones are for people who have fair skin with blue or green eyes, dark or ash blonde hair and hve a tendency to burn in the sun.
Warm tones are for people who have medium, olive or dark skin tones with brown or hazel eyes and have red or gold tones in their hair; which they also have a tendency to tan easily in the sun.
In my case, I have natural red pigments in my hair and skin; which means that I freckle in the sun, I have blue eyes and dark hair. I also have a tendency to burn easily in the sun. I can wear blue eye shadow and mauve or pink tones in lipstick.
People who have dark skin tones with dark eyes look best in brown, orange and gold tones, which can make me look very sallow and washed out.
My mom is olive skin tone with grey hair and she told me that she can wear blues and mauves or pink tones when it comes to make up as well. I did not know that until a while ago.
At least we're all different and we should go with colours of make up that make us look natural and not drabby and washed out.

Airbrush Makeup Mechanism - By: webmaster dinair
To look beautiful is the dream of every woman because women love to be praised. Why shouldn’t she dream?? It’s her right, every person has some elements of beauty which needs to be polished and groomed. Makeup plays very important role in the beauty of a woman. Beauty and Makeup serve to one another. They form the most integral bond together. You can become beautiful by applying the right makeup. Makeup application in itself is an art which can be conquered easily. What you need is the right source of information for makeup and beauty tips.
So first thing here needs to be addressed is selection of appropriate makeup technique – whether we need to still rely on old traditional makeup techniques or we should move to new emerging makeup techniques which celebrities and models use? Now there is another choice when it comes to airbrushing makeup. What is that? Airbrush makeup is a great alternative to regular make up. Airbrush Makeup leaves the skin looking flawless and silky smooth and has long lasting staying power. There are special foundations especially designed for airbrush application. Applying airbrush makeup requires the use of certain tools to get that look you desire. Foundations, blush and eyes shadow can all be used when applying make up using the airbrush method.
Traditionally, the makeup sponge and brush sufficed for applications of makeup. Now, the airbrush has indeed become a highly appealing application for the specialized makeup artist. Contact free application of makeup with the almost imperceptible medium of air - along with the significant benefits that this method brings - have helped lead to a rapidly growing interest in this technique.
Experience is the best teacher, and those that have been around the longest will have perfected their manufacturing process. Dinair has been around since 1981 and they have specialized in airbrush makeup ever since. They became the best by focusing on one thing: Being the best manufacturer of airbrush makeup, and airbrush compressors.
A professional makeup artist will want a larger compressor that won’t over heat due to prolonged use. It has more power which is great when doing several people because you have the option of adding a second airbrush. Airbrushing foundation can be done in as little as 5 minutes and it looks flawless.
Spending time with the system I discovered the secrets that airbrushing holds. The airbrush gun takes the tiniest, most fragile foundation molecule and oxidizes it into a high opacity. In other words, one can wear the sheerest of sheer foundations and have virtually perfect skin. When I took the airbrush foundation and tried to apply it by traditional methods (a sponge and my finger tips) it was too watery to work with. Yet the same foundation passed through the air system takes on a new characteristic and a strength that I have not seen in the twenty-six years I've been painting faces.
When the average person hears the word airbrush, we think of a car being painted, or the final stages of prints for magazines that are finessed into perfection. Today, these processes are accomplished digitally. The model's print (who already happens to be stunningly gorgeous) is color corrected, her teeth are made whiter, her pupils enhanced, her lashes made thicker, her skin tweaked to perfection, her legs thinned out and elongated. It's quite an artificial process and it leads me to the conclusion that I … or any farm animal in Bruce County, for that matter… could probably model for Vogue. However, what would you say if some of these adjustments could be made on your face instead of on your picture? I said prove it!

Gothic Makeup Tips - By: Asuncion
About Gothic Makeup
Gothic makeup is a truly misunderstood form of artistry. Perhaps it is due to the lack of knowledge, or perhaps it is due to the misinformation found in our culture. Whatever the reason, I hope this article will enlighten you to the beauty of this art form.
It is important to understand that gothic makeup does not mean vampires, depression, and severe blackness. Rather, the opposite. The gothic era came about due to the Edwardian Era and the love of literature, especially poetry. The makeup and dress are on the darker side, but not limited to black. Deep hues of velvety burgundies, blues, and purples each have a heart in the Edwardian, gothic, look. The clothing can be romantic as the love of literature suggests, but not in a floral manner. Makeup that most envision is characterized by a darkness of color on the eyes and lips with a paleness about the foundation. However, gothic makeup can also be subtle; extremely pale foundation with rose cheeks, a pale rose lipstick, and eyes made up to be very sunken and drawn.
Applying Gothic Makeup
1. When applying gothic makeup it is important to always begin with a clean face. Since you will be using tones that may be heavily pigmented, the makeup will adhere to a face free of dirt, oil, and dead skin cells.
2. It is equally important to moisturize the skin.
3. Foundation: Gothic foundation is usually much lighter than normal skin tones. Try one to two shades lighter to begin. I often use two shades and blend extremely well! You will especially want to blend around the jaw and sides of the face. The key is blending. If you cannot blend well, try using one shade lighter until you get the hang of blending.
4. Apply loose powder with a sponge all over the face. Apply the powder heavily under the eyes area to capture loose shadow that might fall.
5. Play close attention to the brows. They should be a groomed, plucked finely and filled for perfection with brow liner.
6. Use a dark eye shadow. Look for dark greens, browns, burgundies, purples, and deep blues. Next, apply a dark shadow using a brush at a downward angle over the mobile eye. Don't forget to apply the shadow to the outer corner as well as the inner corner of the eye. Apply the dark shadow to the lower lid, blending it towards the upper eye to create a flow from bottom to top.
7. Line both top and bottom with black liner. You don not have to smudge the lines.
8. Apply black mascara to top and bottom lashes.
9. Using a dark tone lipstick and a pencil to match, draw the outline of the lips correcting any flaw in the shape of the lip. You will need to do this since the color is dark and will emphasize any irregularities in shape. Use a brush to fill in with lipstick.
10. Brush away any loose powder.
11. Apply rouge beginning below the cheekbone; top to bottom. Blend upward. This will create the pale, dramatic look which is also signature of gothic style makeup.
12. Apply rouge to the cheeks. Powder is easier to control, but a cream gives a nice finish as well. I stick with tones in the red family; rose, pink, crimson. These are colors that would have been used in the gothic pallet.
13. Clothing for gothic makeup can be fun and sexy. Look for velvet and velour. Laces, corsets, boots, and feminine jackets are always fun to wear to create harmony in the gothic style.
14. Jewelry is also a fun way to accessorize the gothic look. Find pieces that are made from a Celtic influence to enhance the look.
Gothic is an Edwardian Sense
Gothic can also be applied in a less pigmented makeup to achieve the same pale, dramatic effect thanks to the influence of Queen Victoria in the late 1800's. The Edwardian look influenced by Queen Victoria was a pale, understated face; often sickly looking. The lips and eyes were pale, adding to the look. Rose was commonly applied to the cheeks and even to the lips to give them a touch of color. The overall appearance was bleached looking. Clothing had ruffles and jackets fitted to emphasize the small waist that was desirable. For these reasons, gothic makeup can also be included in the opposite extreme from the darkness of colors as stated earlier.
Gothic makeup is an expression of art and life. Have fun experimenting with your makeup. Just remember to follow the tips as listed above and your gothic look will appear sophisticated, not like a Halloween character. It is meant to emphasize and express the emotions in our lives.

Metallic Eye Makeup Tips - By: Johnsmth.096
Yes, it’s true that there are some “rules” that you should know to be able to use metallic makeup successfully. And that’s why I’m here! I’ll let you in on all of the tricks that we professionals use :-).
I was in Madrid last week, and while I was there, I was inspired to teach you all this look today. I had a dinner in the evening, and to my surprise, I had left my makeup kit for doing smoky eyes in Barcelona. However, I did have a few metallic eyeshadows with me. I did my makeup with what I had, and I have to say that the look was a hit. So, my dear subscriber, if you're going to go out this weekend, I suggest you try it. Personally, I’m going to be doing the look again tonight.
what should you take into account when using metallic shades?
Here are some things to consider about these hues:
• Metallic tones, especially the cool shades (which we are going to talk about in a minute) are ideal for nighttime makeup. If you use them during the day, you should know that the makeup will be more obvious, since daylight reflects cool tones before warm ones. That’s why I always recommend toasted or brownish tones for daytime Makeup .
• That doesn’t mean that you can’t use metallic shades during the day (I'm not trying to make any hard and fast rules here). Instead of using intense silver or purple shades for daytime, it's better to opt for the pinks and violets.
• Texture is very important. Some textures are excessively shiny. Shades that are pearlescent tend to be more flattering (like in the photo above).
• Pink shades are the most delicate, so you should avoid exposing your eyeshadows to sunlight so they don't lose their color.
• When applying these colors, be especially careful to leave the area under your eye very clean, or you will create your own undereye circles.
• Choose quality eyeshadows with high pigment concentration so they don’t smear or go on too lightly. A couple of my favorite brands are Mac and Bobbi Brown.
Don’t use metallics if…
• If you don’t feel comfortable in them. If you don’t feel comfortable using a color, even if it’s very much in style or you like the color a lot, you should get rid of it.
• If you have dark undereye circles, avoid using shades like purple, silver, or even pink, which will bring out your circles.
• If you have very pink skin, warm tones will probably look much better on you than cool tones.
• If you have expression lines on your eyelids or drooping eyelids, choose darker tones and matte tones, for example, gray instead of silver.
Step by step
Once you’ve applied foundation and concealer, follow these steps:
• This time, apply blush before making up your eyes. That way you’ll quickly be able to see if you’re using too much color on your eyes or not.
• I’d recommend that you use a warm blush when using cool, metallic eyeshadows. For this combination, my favorites are bronzing powders. Use bronzing powder on the apples of your cheeks and lightly over your nose to add a touch of color to your face.
• Next, apply concealer (again) over your entire eyelid. This will give your eyeshadow staying power and make the result more intense. Make sure you don’t put on too much concealer or you’ll get creases. To get rid of excess product, simply open and shut your eyes and then use your fingertip to softly remove the excess from the creases.
• The next step is to apply a white pearlescent shade over the entire lid, including your browbone. This will give your eyes extra intensity.
• Next, apply the purple or silver shade to just your lid.
• Choose a pink or violet shade that’s lighter than the other shades you've used and blend it into the crease.
• Use a fine brush to draw a line with the white eyeshadow under your lower lashes. If you want to define your eyes even more, you can use a darker eyeshadow instead. But don’t forget that your goal with this look is to brighten up your eyes.
• Let’s move on to your eyelashes. It’s important to line your eyes with black liner. Make little dots in between your eyelashes and then blend so you can't see them. Your goal is to thicken your lash line, not to see the pencil.
• Curl your lashes and then apply a double coat of mascara.
• For lips, I like to opt for a very shiny pink gloss (at least for this look).
• Don’t forget highlighting. For this look, use a silver-based highlighter. If you on’t have one, you can use your white pearlescent shadow.
Try it! I know you’ll like it.

Beautiful New Lip Makeup Colors - By: Asuncion
Beautiful New Lip Makeup Colors
This winter and spring promises new and exciting colors for the lips. The emphasis in the past season has been on luscious, full lips. Most cosmetic companies have introduced their own version of a sexy pout made perfect with a little help. Even Justin Timberlake has influenced the cosmetic world with his new song SexyBack . We really didn't need to be reminded that sexiness is in; for sexiness always has been. It may have been disguised or subtle; or it may have been front and center. It even may have seen as flirtatious. Sexy is who we are; we are women! Our lips are all of these; disguised, subtle, front and center, flirtatious. This season offers lip makeup in colors and techniques to complement all aspects of our lips.
Disguised and Subtle Lip Makeup
Nude lip makeup has made its entry on the runways this year. It is easy to adapt this fun cosmetic technique to everyday wear.
You first need to begin with moisturized and exfoliated lips. Our lips tend to get overlooked when it comes to pampering. They do take a beating. When I exfoliate my lips, I use a balm mixed with gentle exfoliating cream. Gently, rub in a circular motion to rid the lips of dry skin and help circulate the blood. It is important not to rub too hard. The lips are very sensitive to scrubs. A little goes a long way.
There are two beautiful methods of wearing nude lip makeup. The first is very dramatic and makes a statement. You may want to keep the first for parties. Apply foundation lightly over the lips. Try not to make the lips disappear. You do not need to line the lips. Using a creamy nude lipstick, apply a coat on the lips. Foundation will help show the subtle color of the nude lipstick. For a dramatic pout, try applying a dab of gloss on the center of the lower lip. This will illuminate and emphasize the lower lip.
The second method of wearing nude lip makeup is more sensual and romantic. This method can be used for daytime wear as well. Use a tinted gloss lip makeup. I recommend a rose or peach tone. Both hues represent youthfulness as seen in our lips as children. No lining of the lips is necessary. Simply apply the gloss to the lips, beginning in the center and working outward, placing less and less as you work you way out. For more depth and emphasis on fullness, place a small amount of red lipstick on the center, bottom lip, focusing on the inner portion. This little trick creates an illusion of fullness.
Front and Center Lip Makeup
Another hot trend for this year is the appearance of bold colors and lips lined with precision. Colors of burgundy, rose, cotton candy pink, cinnamon, and spice are essential colors for the season. All show fun and excitement, making a bold statement. It is equally important to match the liner well with the creamy lipstick when using bold colors. Apply the lipstick using a lip brush for more control and accuracy. The creamy texture will glide easily with a lip brush. Clean any smudges using a sponge. Since these colors are already bold, gloss does not need to be applied. Try Jane Iredale Cosmetics for the incredible selection and quality of lip makeup in both bold and beautiful and nude colors.
Flirtatious Lip Makeup
Red is a deliciously hot color that deserves center stage this season. It is a color that can truly stand alone. When choosing a red lip makeup, be sure to stay within the warm or cool shade to match your skin tone. Using the wrong tone will make your skin appear ashy or washed out. Cherry red is a hot color that works well on many skin tones.
Red lip makeup should be applied precisely. First, prep the lips to begin with a smooth texture. Carefully line the lips, correcting any flaws. Using a creamy lipstick to match, apply the lip makeup with a lip brush beginning in the center and moving outward. Because red lip makeup can stain, increase the amount of lip makeup gradually; it is easier to apply more than to take off. Remove and correct any flaws using a sponge. Check for evenness. Finally, apply a light coating of gloss for a dramatic effect. Keep the gloss lighter since gloss can smear.

Fashion Tips And Products: Eye Makeup - By: Raqui
I just stopped by the pharmacy and picked up a great new product from Almay - it's a line of eye makeup for different eye colors, including brown eyes, which happen to be my color! You can choose to play up or bring out the eye color, and the line includes mascaras, eye liners and eye shadows. You would have to buy each thing individually, but I'm excited to see how it does. My professional make-up kit includes some of the best, but for something that is more affordable, Almay seems like a good brand. Another bonus is that the make-up is hypo-allergenic. Here are some other matching ideas that I've used in the past when working on set. TIP: Working with three complementary shades is your best bet-the lightest shade is the accent color that should go just beneath your brow-bone, the medium color goes across your lid and the darkest shade should be applied to the crease. Find your eye color and enjoy!
Brown eyes: Try a neutral look for daytime with soft beiges or brown. For going out at night, a smokey eyed look can work with tones like dark plum and deep blue. I also have one client who prefers a soft green shade for daytime which looks pretty. Light or dark brown mascara also works nicely to go along with all these looks, unless your hair is black, and then wear black mascara.
Green Eyes: Purple tones can enhance your eyes, and so can shades of green. Choose a purple to go with your skin tone-not too dark or you'll look like you got punched! Plums or violets are good. You can also use other greens like jade or emerald that go with your skin tone-there are cool and warm shades that you can experiment with to see what works best for you. Take a look at the Pop Beauty line on www.sephora.com. They have some great ideas for different green eye color pallets. I would also try a plum colored eyeliner and dark brown mascara for these looks.
Blue Eyes: For you gals, cool is the name of the game. Choose tones like light blue, off-white and silver. I also love to use neutral tones like cool beige or tan for daytime. Mary Kay has a wonderful selection of these to go with every skin tone. For nighttime, the smokey eyed look can really work well for you with some midnight blue eyeliner and a sparkling navy shadow. Black or dark brown mascara is usually best with these looks. A charcoal or grey eyeliner works great with the blue and silver shadows.
Hazel Eyes: This is a fun eye color to play up because of its different shades. You can use lovely lavender which will really set them off, or also try shades like a sparkling gold or beige. Pinks and blacks work well with this eye color, so you can try a blush shadow with black mascara and black liner. Remember to apply lightly, especially for daytime! www.glow.com has a great eye trio for hazel eyes that you can have delivered right to your door. You can also use a plum color and liner for a nighttime look.
Sonia Kashuk, who has a line at Target has a different take. She recommends that you choose your eye shadow color based on your hair, not your eyes. I think this holds true, but then, how would I get to experiment with bright turquoise? She says blondes look great in creams and taupes, and that mochas and chocolate browns flatter brunettes. If you are auburn or redhead, you can choose coppers, peaches, and reddish browns or cool tones like pink and lavenders. Gray hair will work with grays, soft purples, and blues.
I hope you have fun as you try different products and different looks. What are your techniques? Do you choose your colors based on your eyes, your hair color, or neither? As a make-up artist, I'm always trying to keep up on what women prefer!

Makeup Artist Tips - Celebrity Makeup Secrets - By: Brain
Makeup is an art where you use your cosmetics as paints and your face as the canvas to conjure up the desired look. Makeup doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple or as complex as you want and is as unique as the individual. Since everybody has a different complexion and look, no one style will be right for everyone. While choosing a style that will compliment your look your makeup should reflect your personality as well as play up your best features and hide any flaws.
If you thought those ladies roll out of bed looking flawless every morning, nothing could be further from the truth. Even the brightest stars in Hollywood wouldn’t be caught dead without their "face" on. You shouldn’t either.
So what? You don’t have a personal makeup artist. That’s irrelevant. You won’t need one when I lay down the Makeup Basics for you. With these tips, you’ll be looking like a star in no time!
First, where else would we start but with your foundation? It didn’t get this name for nothin’. That’s your starting point, and the key is to find one that looks like you don’t have any on! For some, it’s a powder to be brushed on. For others, it’s a liquid to be smoothed on. But whichever you use, you want to appear au naturel.
Second, for your cheeks, eyes, and lips, keep the colors neutral…especially if you’re a beginner. Browns, oranges, greens and golds, earth tones, are always going to be your best bet regardless of your complexion. So for your cheeks, get a large brush and right along your cheekbones, sweep the color of your choice up towards your temples. The easiest way to find the path is to suck your cheeks in like a fish, and the bony structure is where you want to apply the color.
Lip gloss is what’s hot, these days! So, this part is easy. Find a color that looks good on you, in a neutral tone, of course, and spread it on thick! For the lips, the glossier, the better!
Your eyes are where the look will totally come together, so this is the part you really want to get right! Select three colors. For instance, a dark brown, a burnt orange, and gold. Close your eye and apply the dark brown in the crease of your eye. Try not to go too far in (towards the inside corners of your eyes).
Next, take the burnt orange and apply it right along the top of your eyelid (right above the lashes). This time, start from the inside corner and work your way out towards your cheek. Then, trace the underside of your arched eyebrow with the gold shadow. Finish off with sweeping the lashes with a black mascara.
Close the other eye and repeat the steps above. Now, go find yourself a mirror and marvel at the most beautiful woman the world has ever seen! Aren’t you gorgeous? Now, I have a question for you: May I have your autograph? Best wishes, Movie Star! .
