Get Fit And Receive A Living At The Same Time - By: John Gray
When my children flew the nest, I felt a little bored and wanted to do something something else with my life. In my prime years, I was in fact a physical education instructor and had also done a lot of courses in fitness. I was slender with lots of drive in those days.
If it was not for the truth that it was a full time job, I would have gone back to it. I only wanted a part time business though, as I wanted to relish these years and do things I had never done before. Working from home sounded good, so I had a look on the net. This would allow me to keep the house spick and span, but what type of work could I do? There were a number of jobs available, penning articles, addressing envelopes and tele-sales. None of these jobs struck me as being something I wanted to do.
Then, an advertisement about courses in personal training showed up on the screen. That seemed appealing but I wondered if I was too old. I had put on a lot of weight since my younger days, plus having a family hadn't helped. I tried a number of diets but they had not worked. No energy made me feel like a failure and I knew I would have to change it.
After joining the gym, my drive was back and I knew I wanted to complete the course. I was soon at the same weight that I was before I had the babies. I was energetic, fit, able-bodied and raring to go.As long as you can boost others and have plenty of enthusiasm.I made enquiries of how to become a personal fitness trainer. The internet turned out to be my main source of data. The skills required were patience, perseverance, being well-organised and a excellent motivator. It all listed being a wonderful listener as a quality that was needed and my friends and family had always said to me that I was.
Reading the website, I discovered that just 50 miles away, there was going to be a course. I decided not to waffle and enrolled for the course. I went to the lessons and without delay knew that I had done the right thing. It turns out the exam was nothing to worry about and the whole course passed it. Not a bad achievement for someone of my age. I was eager to go one step further and started looking for a place where I could set up a company.
Setting up my own company was what I really wanted to do. I did it all suitably and even registered my corporation. My two closest friends thought of the name for the company and another friend helped me to sort out public liability insurance. The great premises were also found by my family. The next step was to promote myself, so I set about getting flyers, newsletters and business cards printed.
My first class was very busy as most of my friends and family had turned up. Every week, new-found customers were getting in touch to find out if I did one to one classes. I truly relish helping other people to get fit. This job also keeps me in demand seven days a week, so if you are struggling to find a busy vocation consider becoming a personal trainer.
