How to Maintain Car Tyres - By: Monty Alexander.
Car tyres are one of the most important components of a car. You can imagine what will be a car without tyres! Certainly it will be of no use. Apart from making a car to run, tyres have important effect on the car’s safety and performance. In that case, if we are talking about the maintenance of the car, the maintenance of the tyre is very important. Here are given a few tips for maintenance of the car tyres.
In case of car tyres, make sure that tread pattern is same for all the tyres. Do not mix radial tyres with other tyres. Another important thing elongates the life of your tyres is the air pressure. It should be maintained at prescribed level. Lower air pressure that prescribed one can lead to various problems such as reduced driving stability, high fuel consumption and harm to suspensions. On the other hand, excess air pressure leads to faster wearing down of the tyres and a rough ride. Air pressure should be checked when they are cool as air expands when it is hot. Tyres get hot car is running for long time.
Another great tip for maintenance of car tyres is exchange the diagonally after every 5000 km of ride. For this exchange front right tyre with rear left tyre. Wheel alignment is very important for the maintenance of the car as it elongates the life of the tyre. Proper wheel alignment is also important for the safety of the car. It prevents the unnecessary centrifugal force and wobbling of tyres. One thing that prevents unusual wearing of the tyres at one edge is positive cambering. It means wheels are set apart at the top than at the bottom.
Whenever you buy new car tyres, do not ignore the importance of tyre tubes. Furthermore, tyre and tube should be same brand to make the best impact.
Apart from these maintenance tips for tyres, you should also avoid driving car at very high speeds as it damages the tyres. Also, refrain from heavy braking to avoid early wearing of the tyres. Keep checking your car tyres for any small pieces of metal or stone as they may damage the tyre if they stayed there in groves for long.
If you need to change tyres of your car, it is very important to have right information about the tyres of different brands. In addition, get information about the tyre prices in India.

Top car insurance tips for 17 year olds - By: bythesea
Young drivers are often faced with sky-high car insurance premiums because insurers tend to view them as more likely to be involved in accidents. But a few tips and tricks can drive down the cost. For cheap car insurance for 17 year olds in the UK, comparing policies is essential. Cover can vary widely, up to around £3,000 per year for particularly high-risk drivers. Consider these 10 top tips before buying car insurance.
1. Pass Plus
If you've recently passed your driving test, the last thing you want to do is take another exam. But by qualifying on the advanced driving Pass Plus course, you could reduce car insurance premiums by up to a third.
2. Keep your car safe and secure
Better in-car security and parking in a safe place could reduce your insurance premiums. Having an alarm, immobiliser or tracker professionally fitted, using steering or handbrake locks, or parking your car in the driveway or garage overnight, are all ways to cut insurance costs.
3. Consider taking public transport to work
If you use your car to commute to work, it will push up the premium. Use the car for just "social and domestic" reasons and you'll get a better deal. So ditch the wheels and take the bus.
4. Less power = cheaper cover
A powerful car in the hands of an inexperienced driver is a potentially dangerous mix - hence the expensive car insurance. That's why it makes sense for your first car to be a modest set of wheels with a small engine. It will be cheaper to insure, easier to handle, and could be less thirsty on the fuel.
5. Avoid modifications to your car
Any modifications from the "factory fresh" version of your car will cost you extra. Are alloy wheels, fat exhaust pipes and so on really worth it? Basically, if you want cheaper insurance, avoid modified cars.
6. Up the voluntary excess
Voluntary excess is what you agree to pay in the event of a car insurance claim, on top of the compulsory excess. Raising the excess will reduce your premiums, but it does mean you will have to pay more of the costs if you have to make a claim.
7. Start building up your NCB
A No Claims Bonus (NCB) is the best way to reduce your car insurance costs. Unfortunately, you can't get it until you've had car insurance for at least a year. This is because the NCB is a discount off your next year's insurance bill for being a safe, claims-free driver in the previous year. Better still, the more consecutive years you go without a claim, the bigger the discount could be.
8. Keep a clean driving licence
A clean licence is one without any penalty points. If you break traffic laws, you could incur points, a fine, a driving ban, or all three. This is why it's absolutely vital to drive safely if you want to keep insurance costs down. You can receive points for things like driving without due care and attention, driving whilst over the alcohol limit, or speeding. Read more about driving convictions.
9. Pay for car cover in one go
Paying for car insurance in monthly instalments may feel easier on your bank balance but you'll likely pay more over the course of a year. This is because many insurance providers will give you a discount if you can stump up the entire year's premium in one advanced payment.
10. Consider a lower level of car insurance
In the UK, the only compulsory car insurance is Third Party Only (TPO). As such, you are not obliged to opt for more expensive levels of cover such as Third Party Fire and Theft (TPF&T) and Comprehensive cover (Fully Comp or Comp). However, it's vital that you understand the difference between the three levels of cover before choosing, as TPO could leave you with a very expensive bill should your car be involved in an accident.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
If you are involved in a motor accident, what can you do to make sure your car insurance provider settles the matter as soon as possible? These simple post-incident tips are a must-read for all drivers.
Have your information to hand
Keep your car insurance certificate in your glove compartment, along with a notebook and pen. Also, having a disposable camera as a back-up is a good idea, in case you don't have a camera on your phone or your phone battery has run flat, for example.
Write down all the details
Got that notebook to hand? Now mark down the following:
* The time and date of the accident
* The other car's details - names, addresses and telephone numbers of drivers, passengers and pedestrians involved
* Names and addresses of any witnesses
* Vehicle details including make, model, registration number, colour, any modifications and the number of passengers in each vehicle
* Insurance details for the driver of the other vehicle. If it is a company car, take both the driver's and their employer's details
* The weather, visibility and lighting conditions
* Were headlights and/or indicator lights used? Are all lights working?
* A description - and photo, if possible - of the damage to each vehicle involved
Check your policy
Review your car insurance terms and conditions to check what is covered. Any queries? Make a list before calling the insurance company. For example, are you covered for windscreen replacement? How about a courtesy car?
Report the incident
Tell your car insurance company about the accident as soon as possible. Some companies have 24-hour hotlines for this very purpose. Give a clear and concise description of the incident and make a note of who you are talking to and the time and date of the report. Now ask any questions about the terms and conditions of the policy - and cross-check with your documents.
What happens next?
Your car insurer will now log the incident and, if it wasn't your fault, do its best to recover costs from the other party. This is where all the information you took from the scene of the accident will come in handy. But remember, in some cases it can be hard to prove liability and all parties may need to shoulder some of the cost.

How over-50s can slash car insurance costs - By: bythesea
Car insurers specifically targeting the over-50s claim to offer reduced prices, but mainstream insurers often beat those specialist ones, because all providers recognise that most experienced drivers make fewer claims on their policies. The broader your search for insurers, the lower the price you'll likely pay. So here's some tips on how the over 50's can cut the cost of car insurance.
Get the best insurance policies
Going beyond price, there are surprisingly few terms and conditions that are tailor-made in policies targeting mature drivers. The majority of 50+ policies are not dramatically different than for younger drivers, if at all.
However, there are some good terms that are more often available to older drivers at better prices, which an online comparison will help you find more quickly. Here are some rare benefits you might want to look for:
* A guaranteed no-claims bonus. Better than a protected bonus, this means it doesn't matter how many claims you have in a year, your bonus will not be reduced. Insurer LV= (formerly Liverpool Victoria) offers this.
* No excess to pay when damage is caused by an uninsured driver, or if the vehicle is written off, or stolen and not recovered. Zurich Insurance offers this.
* Premiums will not be raised when it's the other driver's fault and you have a protected bonus. (Amazingly, even with a protected bonus most insurers will increase your premium a little when you have an accident that is the other person's fault. One of the exceptions is again Zurich Insurance.)
* Any driver with a licence may drive your car in a medical or motoring emergency. Saga currently offers this benefit, for example. The condition is that you must also be in the car at the time.
* The no-claims bonus will not be reduced if damage is caused by vandalism. As far as I'm aware, this benefit is exclusively available from Saga.
* A number of insurers will cover you for stolen or lost car keys.
These features can come at a higher cost, so compare car insurers to get the best price. Before buying, make sure you see the features you want in the small print, because each insurer has a variety of policies and can sometimes vary their terms depending on the policyholder's circumstances.

Buying a car: Is Personal Contract Purchase the right option? - By: bythesea
Figures out last month from the Finance and Leasing Association showed that more than a quarter of a million new car buyers used dealer finance to fund their purchase in the first six months of this year. That means almost half of drivers currently prefer this sort of borrowing to using personal loans or savings, with the majority of these now turning to personal contract purchase (PCP) deals rather than the more traditional hire purchase agreements.
What is PCP?
A PCP requires the customer to pay a certain amount for a set contract period of somewhere between 24 to 48 months. You have the right to drive the vehicle, but the funding company will retain ownership of it until the contract expires.
This is much like a hire purchase, with the main difference being that you can choose to pay a substantial fee at the end to keep the car, waiver the deal at the end or ‘roll' on to a new deal with a new car.
Is it the right option?
PCP lending can be a good option if you like to change your car regularly - say, every three years. It works on the basis that you never actually own the car during the period of your loan.
As well as the flexibility of this sort of deal being attractive to some people, it also offers a hedge against depreciation in the form of the Minimum Guaranteed Future Value (MGFW) figure, or balloon payment.
This is a figure intended to calculate the effect of depreciation and will be the minimum you will have to pay at the end of the deal if you want to buy the car. If you choose not to, you can use the difference between this value and the actual value of the car as a deposit on another. Alternatively, if the car depreciates beyond this value, your dealer should soak up the loss.
Before signing up to a PCP agreement, it's important to remember a few things:
* Check that any PCP deal you take is properly regulated and thus covered by the Consumer Credit Act 1974. This means that, if your circumstances change and you need to exit the deal, you will be entitled to do so as long as you have equalled 50 per cent of the total amount payable and return the car. If your contract is unregulated you could well find yourself trapped with relatively little legal recourse.
* There may also be certain charges involved that you need to be wary of - for example, if you go over the agreed mileage during the term of the contract. Make sure you are confident of meeting all the terms and check on any additional charges before signing.
* Simply put, it may not be the most cost-effective option available. For example, at present, you can find an unsecured loan of between £7,500 and £14,999 at 7.8 per cent typical APR through Confused.com*. It's not likely that any forecourt deal will be as competitive as this, while an unsecured loan could well offer even an even greater saving. Of course, you'll also own the car from day one, so it's worth weighing up the pros and cons of all available forms of finance.
Most importantly, it's key to shop around, whatever finance options you're choosing. Don't feel pressured into taking a deal on the day from a particular showroom if you aren't 100 per cent happy. A dealer may tell you that their offer is only available for a certain time, but more often than not that will simply be a way of pressuring you into buying.

Headrest Car Monitors Are a Great Investment for Your Vehicle - By: Tony Tracy
A headrest car monitor is one of the simplest and most cost effective ways of turning your vehicle into a mobile multimedia center. In addition, a headrest LCD monitor is also the ultimate solution for all the specific needs of each one of your passengers whether they are friends, family or children.
Headrest car monitors allow separate multimedia video sources to play on each individual monitor. This allows greater flexibility for the units to play more than regular videos. For example, you can hook up an Xbox or Playstation directly to 1 headrest car monitor and a portable DVD or Blu-Ray player directly to a separate color monitor car headrest. Keep the kids occupied with their favourite games and the adults with their favourite movies. To ensure privacy, and also not to disturb everybody else in the vehicle, wireless infrared or wired plug-in headsets can also be added.
Technology has advanced so much nowadays that you can even include multiple new functions with your headrest car monitors whether as an add-on or built-in feature. Memory card slots, for virtually every type of memory card such as SD/MMC/MS etc., can be used for people who want to view their digital camera or camcorder footage on a bigger screen without having to wait until get home. TV tuners allow a person to watch their favourite TV programs in real time and wherever they go. This is subject to availability in each country of course and also depends on the area they are travelling in to ensure good reception.
One of the most basic features of a headrest car monitor is its ability to play regular music CD’s in addition to DVD’s. As with all things, even this feature has advanced as well. Now most headrest car monitors also include a FM transmitter which allows the user to wireless broadcast their favourite songs directly to the car’s own stereo system. This allows everybody in the automobile to enjoy the music from the higher quality of the vehicle’s surround sound system. Not enough songs on a CD to please everybody’s musical preference? A built-in USB port, iPod connector or external HDD plug-in will solve this issue by allowing hundreds, if not thousands, of your most preferred MP3’s to be easily accessed and played on your headrest car monitors.
Headrest LCD car monitors offer an easy and quick solution to all your in-car entertainment needs. Most headrest car monitors allow installations in areas that do not take up additional room in your car, van, SUV or truck. Since the majority of color monitor car headrests on the market today are sold with the headrest pillow already, you won’t need to hire a professional installer to cut holes in your own headrests just to install the monitors. Plus they come in a multitude of colors to match the interior of any vehicle and now come with custom zipper covers so that potential thieves won’t know that you have them installed in your car.
Headrest LCD car monitors are available in many different TFT LCD screen sizes ranging from 4 inches to an incredible 11 inches, and counting, and also includes normal aspect ratios to widescreen ratios. Some headrest car monitors can even flip out and swivel 360 degrees allowing not only the rear passengers to view it, but the front passengers as well. It doesn’t matter which country you live in as a headrest car monitor will now include NTSC and PAL auto switching built right in. Experience the joy of having headrest LCD car monitors for your vehicle!

How To Change A Car Tyre - By: Mark Thomas Walters
A flat tyre on your car can be mighty inconvenient, but a blow out on the motorway could be fatally dangerous. Proper maintenance and complete care for your car's tyres are essential and you should always know how to change the tyres on your car. With our handy guide to tyre changing, you can greatly reduce the risk of accidental damage and potentially dangerous situations arising when driving your car. After all, it's a matter of life and death.
In order to change a car tyre, you first need to jack your car up. Your car should come with a jack but these can be bought cheaply from most maintenance stores. Ensuring your ignition is off and your handbrake is on, loosen the wheel nuts slightly and place the jack under the jacking point on the underside of your car. Carefully use the jack to raise the vehicle up to a point where you can easily remove the existing tyre and have enough room to fit the new tyre to the car.
You can now begin to remove the wheel nuts which you loosened prior to jacking. You should remove the wheel nuts on the left and ride sides first and leave the top one until last. This will minimise the possibility of snapping or bending the wheel bolts. If you have a friend to help you hold the tyre whilst you remove it, this will minimize damage further. Once you've removed every nut, carefully remove the tyre and put it to one side.
Carefully place the new wheel on the car in place of the old one and ensure it sits snugly on the bolts with the help of a friend before tightening the wheel nuts. Tighten the nuts lightly, giving yourself enough room to maneuver the wheel and ensure it is sat tightly on the bolts. Make sure the tyre is the right way round and that the air valve is facing you. You can refer to your other wheels to make sure it looks right before putting it on. Slowly lower the jack. When your wheel touches the road, tighten the bolts securely.
You should check your tyres' air pressure regularly to give better fuel economy and ensure even tread wear. In addition, you should rotate the tyres every 7,500 miles to increase the life of each tyre. With smooth and even braking, you reduce the risk of skidding which can damage tyres. Careful parking ensures you don't bash your tyres on kerbs, which will also affect their lifespan. Following these measures will save you time, hassle and money.

Replace Coil Springs on Your Car or Truck - By: Tony Tracy
Learning the proper techniques on replacing coil springs on your vehicle is not as difficult as one may come to believe.
Our simple guide on how to replace coil springs can be performed in the comfort of your own home garage, alleyway or side street.
Replacing coil springs is usually required simply because the current existing springs are beginning to show signs of wear and tear and need to be changed to restore its original handling and ride height. However, there are also many situations an owner decided to install aftermarket coil over springs.
Furthermore, one can notice that their springs are starting to wear simply based on the reduced handling capabilities of their vehicle and a gradual lowering of their overall ride height. Even though coil springs take a long time to wear out they still and can be compromised.
Replacing coil springs can be done almost anywhere and is really not that challenging compared to other replacement parts on a vehicle. As a note of caution though, if done improperly the installation process can still be quite a dangerous one because of the immense pressure coiled-up springs can produce. Take a moment to thoroughly go over all the steps to ensure that you know how to replace coil springs properly before actually attempting the job.
The first thing you want to do is find a nice open area where you can safely jack the vehicle up and support it on strong and stable jack stands. Make sure to block the wheels with a stone or wooden block to prevent the vehicle from rolling away. The car or truck should be placed into park or first gear and should definitely have the handbrake applied. Take the jack and remove it from the vehicle and begin the installation. You never want to work under a vehicle without some sort of stable support.
Now remove the tires and wheels and place them somewhere where they won`t be in your way. You can actually choose to place them just underneath the frame of the car as a safety cushion in case your jack stands give out. You need to carefully inspect the coil over springs and shocks area to see if there are any other components that need to be removed before beginning the procedure. Some examples are things like shocks or brakes which inhibit your access to the springs themselves. Considering all makes and models of cars and trucks are quite different, refer to a repair manual from either the dealer or automotive parts store to double check this matter.
One tool that you will need to own is a spring compressor. This particular tool will need to be inserted into the coil spring and is one of the most crucial steps that you will need to do. Forgetting to compress the spring in this way may cause it to release all of its stored energy once the control arm is loosened which could result in tragic injuries which may even result in death. Even with the coil spring held in a compressed state it is better to be safe than sorry and add a 2nd precaution by wrapping a metal chain around the spring and locking it into place. This way, if the spring compressor fails, the chain will immediately halt the spring from recoiling and springing out at full force.
Inspect to see if the spring is truly secured and then go ahead with lowering the control arm by removing all the bolts. A torque wrench is required in removing or unscrewing these bolts. After the bolts and nuts are removed and placed aside, slower lower the control arm all the way until the coil spring is freed and able to be removed.
Now pick up your new stock or aftermarket coil over springs and compress it by using the spring compressor. Again, for added safety you can choose to tie a steel chain around the spring as mentioned previously. At this time you should be able to easily place the spring in the same location inside the spring holders in which the old springs were resting. Once they are snugly fit into place raise the control arm back into its original place. Now screw on all necessary bolts with the torque wrench and make certain that they are tightened according to the manufacturer specifications as noted in your repair manual. After the control arm has been replaced, you can now safely take off the spring compressor and steel chain.
The last step on how to replace coil springs on your car or truck is to install back any other parts that had to be removed to help you access them in the first place. After this is completed, the tires and wheels can be put back on to finalize the installation procedure of replacing coil springs on your vehicle. You can simply repeat all the aforementioned steps on the remaining 3 corners of your automobile. Give care to pay attention to the suspension design as it may vary from the front to back and you may have to change your approach a little bit to compensate for the various design distinctions while attempting to replace coil springs on your car or truck.

How often should you buy new tires for your car? - By: Ivan Petrov
Tires don’t have mouth to speak. That is why don’t expect them to tell you that its time to change them because that is never going to happen. As we all know, things should be handled with care. This is the reason why things do last for years because they had been well taking cared of. For tires, they too need maintenance in order to check their present condition whether they can still function or not. When you buy tires, make sure that they do have warranty so that if any problem occurs, you can still return it and get something new. Some people own cars often buy tires when it is already too late because as they say, the tire can still run or they don’t have enough money to purchase a new one. Let these facts help you decide on how often you buy a new tire for your car.
• Check first your tires, if you have noticed some changes of its color, any signs of damage or cracks.
• Usually car owners buy a new tire if it is already bowed, warped and flat. If you can already see a radial wire, tread is worn, then that’s the time they buy a new one. If the hairline is already cracked and damaged, it is time to buy a new tire.
• The truth is you need to replace your old tires with the new one more often than you thought to maintain the condition of your car and its wheel. Because when the tread is already worn out, the tire can no longer hold grip on the road and this could lead to accident.
• When we talk about tread depth, the standard replacement of it is when it is already five years old. You can identify its age by the help of the alphanumeric code of the tire.
• You need to change your tire if it is already losing its pressure. Temperature of the surroundings can affect the air pressure of the tire. You can use a pressure gas to check the pressure of your tires. This losing of pressure may be due to a leak or a crack that can’t longer be fixed.
• Tread of the Tire: if you are looking for any signs that could help you identify either you need a new tire or not, the tire tread is a great help. It is because a solid rubber will be exposed when the tread is already worn out. You can identify if the tread is already worn out if it is already bald.
• Tread Measurement: You can also measure the tread of your tire to help you identify whether you need to buy a new one.
May the above mentioned could help you maintain the condition of your tire. May you will know when the exact time to buy tires is.

It is ridiculous to imagine a car without tyres. The tyres for a car are what legs for us. There are different types of car tyres for different tyres and models of cars. A good quality tyres are must for the best performance of a car. Before you by car tyres, it is important that you know about the various types of car tyres available in the market.
The performance Tyres are designed for the people who love drive at faster speeds like a sports car. Though tyres help the car run faster, they are softer and have lesser life. Due to the softness, these tyres have better grip on the road and around corners. However, they are suited for dry conditions only as they cannot handle water like the normal tyres do. One such tyre is slick used for racing. However, slick tyres used for Formula 1 racing do not last longer than 200-300 km. At higher speed, these tyres have more grips.
All weather tyres are the most common types of tyres used for most of the car manufacturers. In fact these tyres are used for intermediate kind of cars. They have h features which lie between wet weather tyres and slick tyres. Cars with these tyres can easily tread through the wet roads also. These tyres are harder and more durable.
Wet Weather tyres are even softer than the performance tyres. These tyres are deigned such that they need to reach a certain temperature to grip well and perform better. These car tyres are recommended for the car plying rainy areas. These tyres diffuse maximum amount of water on road when they tread.
Snow and mud tyres are designed to help move car in tough conditions. These are suitable for snowy and icy terrain. The normal tyres will loose the grip on such roads. These tyres make a lot of noise. Moreover, if driven on dry roads with higher speed, the tyres and roads will wear out soon.
All terrain tyres are good for SUV’s and 4WD vehicles. They can tread on normal roads and off-road conditions. The mud tyres have extra deep treads. They can have good grip in muddy conditions also. However, these tyres cannot be used on normal roads.
When planning to buy tyres, first determine your needs such as type of car, road conditions, climate and usage. The car tyre prices depend upon the type, model and brand.

If you are living in a hot climate, you will need a battery with higher RC rating and if you are living in colder climates, a higher CCA rating would be required.
There are two most common types of car batteries; low-maintenance and maintenance-free. (Non-sealed and sealed) The low maintenance batteries are made up from lead-antimony/calcium formulation. It is dual alloy or sealed. These batteries offer several advantages such as longer life, less preventive maintenance, faster recharging, reduced terminal corrosion, greater overcharge maintenance and longer shelf life. However, these batteries are more prone to deep discharge failures due to increased shedding of active plate material. In hot climates, it is recommended to buy non-sealed batteries because, you can add water when required which is not possible in sealed batteries.
One more type of battery is there these days; it is dual type battery which has features of a combined battery also. It has switchable emergency cells. However, people buy two batteries and
Keep them isolated. With growing technology, more expensive batteries will be available in future.
Car batteries are manufactured according to the international standards. They are based upon the physical case size, terminal polarity and terminal placement. The car battery prices vary according to its type, CCA and RC rating and warranty. You can look online for more information and features of about batteries of different types.

Spare Tires - By: Mykalanne Gutierrez
I know that we all know what Spare Tires are, but do you really know what they are, why they’re there, who invented them, & all that good stuff? I bet you don’t; let me go ahead & tell you.
The technical definition of a spare tire (or tyre) is an additional tire that is carried in your car just in case one of your tires goes flat; but if all of them go flat, then you’re pretty much out of luck .. just messing. Usually, you can either have a compact spare or a full-size spare - either way, you’re not supposed to drive on it for more than a couple of miles.
Back in the day, when people used to get flat tires, there was a completely different & long process that people had to go through just to fix it. First, they had to take the wheel off from the vehicle that they were driving; then, they had to demount the tire. After that, they had to patch the inner tube, re-mount the tire to the vehicle that they were driving on, inflate the tire, & finally re-mount the wheel. Today, if I get a small hole in my Used Tires, I take it to the local gas station that has a little shop & they just patch it up. How times have changed, huh?
The very first vehicle that had the spare tires included in them were the Ramblers. The spare wheel was interchangeable & meant that the driver could quickly replace it for the flat one that they unfortunately got while driving. Since carrying a spare tire was so common between vehicle manufacturers at the time, they decided to put two spare tires in the vehicle. They mounted the tires behind the front fenders because they blended into the running boards - which was a narrow footboard that served as a step below the doors of the vehicle.
When World War II rolled around in 1941, the government said that all production on spare tires needed to come to a stop because most manufacturers got their rubber from different countries .. & that didn’t seem like such a great idea since the U.S. was at war with some countries.
If you look at vehicles today, you’ll notice that some vehicles have compact spares & some of them have full-sized spares. Sometimes, the spare wheels can be the same type & same size as the “regular” wheels on your car. The spare can either be mounted on a regular factory steel wheel or a matching road wheel. There are usually full-sized spares on passenger vehicles like SUV’s & light trucks because if they were to have a compact spare, it would just mess up the car .. kind of.
There are compact spare tires on some cars because it’s cheaper, reduces the entire weight of the actual vehicle, & saves on the space in your trunk where it is usually stored. If you ever approach the time where you need to use your compact spare, don’t use it like you would a regular tire. In other words, the compact spares are only supposed to used for short distances - like from the place you got the flat to the nearest gas station.
Regardless if you are a safe driver or not, the compact spare is always there just in case. I suggest that you never take it out, even if it makes your car heavier & makes you spend a little more on gas. If you need any type of tire, go ahead & visit All-Used-Tires.com & look for those 19” Used Tires to go on that car of yours.

Simple and safe ways to buy car tires - By: Lyuben
The car tires are very important for your car and they are the main parts responsible for the traction between the car and the road. There is no matter what car tires you will have installed on your car, because sooner or later they will wear out. When this happens you will have to find and buy new car tires.
However, since there are so many tire stores all over the world, most of the drivers find really confusing to buy new tires. Furthermore, in most of the cases they do not know whether the tire seller is reliable or not. To avoid that there are some really simple safety measures that you should employ to make buying new car tires safer. The first thing that you can do is to check the reputation of the tire seller. There are a lot of websites, where you can find what the other customers of that tire retailer are thinking about the services that they had received. Another thing that you should check is whether the tires that you will be buying will be created from the highest quality materials possible. That way you will be sure that your new car tires will last longer and they will definitely improve the performance of your car.
If you intend to buy tires personally and not online then these safety measures might help you buy the right kind of tires. First, be aware of your tire needs. This includes knowing the tire size, the type and even the tire model. Second, when you are at the retail store always inspect the tires especially if it is on display. Inspecting the tires before you buy it may help you spot defects and you can ask for a new set of tires before paying for it. Third, ask for a warranty. Most tires come with a warranty. A warranty will help you get a new set of tires in case you find out that the tires you bought have factory defects. The warranty is only applicable if you discover the defect within the warranty period.
When you play safe when you buy new tires for your car, you will be sure that your car will perform at its best. It is a good idea to check the websites of the largest tire manufacturers in the world such as Michelin, because they are proven to offer the highest quality tires in the world.

The car tires are a lot more than what they look like - By: Lyuben
There are only a few people, who know how important the car tires are. They are considered to be the main parts of your vehicle, because they are responsible for the traction between the car and the road. Therefore, you can only imagine the work that your car tires are doing every time you drive and for that reason here are some tips to learn how to maintain them properly:
Air pressure. If there is damage on your car tires, the first thing that will change is the air pressure. To avoid or make the damage smaller, simply check the pressure of your car tires at least once a month. If you do not know the right pressure for your tires, look at the owner’s manual of your car. Important to know is that air pressure found on the sidewall of your car tires is not the air pressure recommended by the manufacturer of the car, but the maximum pressure that your car can handle. Remember that if you do not maintain your car tire’s pressure properly, your tires will wear out sooner and also it can cause serious handling issues. Make sure that you check the pressure of your car tires, when they are cold. Tire pressure should be the same on both tires on the same axle but this may not be the case when it comes to the front or rear axles.
Tread Depth. If you want to avoid hydroplaning or skidding, you should check the debt of your car tire’s tread. The minimum depth is somewhere around 1/16th of an inch. Have you heard of the “penny test” to check tread depth? It’s quite easy and effective. Insert a penny in your tire’s tread. If part of Lincoln’s head is covered by a tread, this means that your car tires have enough tread. However, if you can see the whole Lincoln’s head, it is time for you to buy a new one.
Tire Rotation. It is recommended that you rotate your tire every 5,000 to 7,000 miles or follow what is stated on your car’s manual. Basically this means moving or changing the position of your car tires such as moving it from front to rear.
Replacement. If ever you need to replace the tires of your car, make sure that all 4 are the same as those that came with your car when you bought it. This includes the size, type and speed rating.
Others. Curbs can be a big problem for your tires. When approaching on, make sure that you will be careful. However, if you drive over them with a high speed or at a wrong angle, the impact from it may cause your tire to crack. Make sure that you will avoid potholes or debris on the road. In addition regularly check the balance and alignment of your wheels.
As you had already found out, the car tires are very important for the performance of your car, so learn how to treat them properly and you will reduce the risks of traffic accidents.

Why install a full-featured car alarm remote system? - By: Harry john Fernandes
It’s no secret. There are thieves out there who want to steal your vehicle or break in to get away with things lying in your car. Not only valuable items inside your car, but the parts of your car like wheels, accessories, music systems, headlights and anything that is of value is always under threat.
Remember that the average factory car alarm remote that comes with your new vehicle does not provide the level of security from thieves and vandals. They are more often than not just a device that offers keyless entry. To check if your car manufacturer has provided you an automatic car starter with full security features follow these steps:
• Roll down your windows partly and lock the car with the remote car starter.
• Then reach your hand inside the car and open the door.
This action should immediately trigger any car alarms systems. If there is no sound than the alarm system is not integrated with your remote automatic car starter and there is no security against break-ins for your vehicle. Again if someone breaks your window how would you know? The answer is to install a car alarm remote device that comes with a shock sensor. Until you have a full-featured car alarm system installed, you should not stay too far away from your vehicle.
Your car manufacturer’s remote car starter with a key ring is not enough to secure your vehicle from thieves, vandals and the natural elements. Sooner or later, you will need to install a third party car alarm system for complete peace of mind.
We recommend that you to opt for car alarms systems integrated with the best remote car starter to ensure the best security possible for your valuable car. Top it up with an automobile immobilizer and your vehicle is totally safe from thefts, tampering and damage.

Why Should I Go Xeon With My Car? - By: A. Myers Kennedy
What is that growing and popular trend that is pushing the traditional halogen lamps right off the shelves in auto parts stores?! It is the new look of HID bulb headlights. So, what is all this excitement over HID lights you ask and why would I want these on my car? Car manufacturers and aftermarket retailers always are coming out with some gimmick to get car enthusiast’s baited, right?
Well the Xenon HID Bulb give off an outstanding characteristic with colored lights. They come in colors of blue and purple and provide greater visibility that is much better than the traditional halogen lights. Once you understand how they are made, you can understand why they are so much better for driving, not to mention the cool look they give your car!
The traditional halogen lamps use a heated tungsten filament that puts out light for better car driving experience. However, HID lights are fitted with xenon gases which receive a high voltage that in turns produces an arc of light. This method of power allows the xenon bulbs to put out three times extra stronger light over halogen lamps.
Providing a much superior performance the HID bulbs provide ten times more light than traditional halogen lamps. Xenon HID light makes the best car lighting option for your automobile. The HID bulbs are measures in units of ‘Kelvin’ known as K. The varying degrees of K provide a variety of colors beyond the original blue and purples.
Car manufacturers are now making the HID bulb standard on many models of new cars. Since the xenon HID bulbs resemble the traditional halogen lamps, they look the same and are the same in size, and any car can be easily fitted by trained technicians. With a mobile service that is available in some areas now, many people are having their cars retro-fitted with the new HID to keep their car looking new and in style.
Drivers that have opted to go with the HID lighting system have found they get better visibility on the road, most especially in cases of blind spots, debris and even animals standing in the road. Another advantage that these HID lights provide is emitting whiter and better lighting in any weather condition. As well, they have a better shock absorption since they do not contain any filaments. Longevity, better performance and affordable prices are few points which make switching over to Xenon Lights inevitable and a wise decision.
So to recap why you should go with Xenon head lamps:
They provide brighter lights and wider range
They provide almost daylight viewing
They last longer than the halogen bulb – They last up to ten times longer
They are tougher than the halogen bulb – They are more shock absorbent
They pull less power from your car’s electrical system – This in turns helps your car use less fuel
While car owners want their automobile to have the latest and greatest in looks, safe driving should be the top priority. With xenon lights you will enjoy driving your car under all circumstances and know that you and your passengers are safe too.

What is a Turbo and how does a turbocharger affect your car? - By: Anisplas
A Diesel Turbocharger can be one of the most important parts for your vehicle as it is needed to give your vehicle boost and power. There are many online sites that provide great Diesel Turbochargers at affordable prices and with long-term warranties. When buying your Diesel Turbo, make sure that the store has a good history and that they only carry quality car parts.
A diesel turbo works by using Oxygen to give more horsepower to your car. Air is compressed and is forced into the engine’s cylinder where a proper air/fuel ratio is created and significantly increases vehicle power. The Diesel Turbo enables your car’s engine to have maximum power. A diesel turbo, in essence, is a glorified air compressor. Aside from a supercharger, the diesel turbo is the only other forced induction air compressor used in vehicle applications.
In order to ensure that your diesel turbocharger is going to provide your vehicle with proper boost, make sure that the proper steps are taken for a good installation. Diesel turbo repair is not a beginner job. Make sure you get a certified mechanic to replace your diesel turbocharger. If you are doing the job yourself, purchase the mechanic’s manual specific to your vehicle.
It is crucial that proper quality and quantity oil is used on your engine to prevent it from overheating. To ensure you have good oil, make sure to change the oil frequently and only use synthetic oil for your parts. Using low-quality oil will directly affect your Diesel Turbo and cause malfunction. If you end up replacing the diesel turbo, remember to check gaskets. Depending on the damage to the diesel turbo system, you might need to replace just one or up to six different gaskets. Typically, the exhaust manifold needs to be replaced but there are countless other gaskets involved in a diesel turbo engine which might need to be replaced or readjusted.
Proper maintenance and mechanic inspection is also necessary to prevent future Diesel Turbo malfunction or repair. If you take care of your vehicle by having routine maintenance done and by driving your car with moderate acceleration, then you should not have to worry about your Diesel Turbo going bad. More importantly, you will save money and have a part that performs much better than other mistreated Diesel Turbos. Ultimately, a Diesel Turbo is a great part to help increase your vehicle’s performance, make sure to purchase a Diesel Turbo from a credible source and to properly maintain your Diesel Turbo in order to have the best car part experience.
When purchasing a diesel turbocharger, you want to be certain which condition it comes it. Meaning, is it a new or rebuilt diesel turbocharger? If new, is it an aftermarket replica or the original factory replacement diesel turbo? If rebuilt, what type of warranty does it carry? These questions need to be answered before you buy the turbo. Speaking of questions, if there isn’t a customer service number to call regarding your diesel turbocharger, forget buying from them. Additionally, make sure the call center is located in the United States, not Jamaica, India, or Philippines. Common sense dictates people who live in your country will know about the cars most common in your country.

It's a sad fact, but most vehicles that are stolen are never recovered.
Monitoring speed - Radar detectors do more than just alert the driver when there is law enforcement nearby. They also can serve as a periodic reminder to choose to drive at a reasonable speed while adhering to all local laws.
Directions for the directionally impaired - On board navigation systems are an excellent way to not only ensure that drivers don't wind up in dangerous areas. They also help improve road safety by giving drivers visual and vocal directional prompts, so there will never be a reason to suddenly cut across many lanes of traffic in order to reach the correct exit or turn.
These advantages are just some of the ways that mobile electronics can help improve the safety of everyone on the road, from drivers to passengers to pedestrians. Call your local mobile electronics shop today to learn more about the options available when you purchase any of these great products.
